Abolition May tells the story of student organizers at the University of Chicago and their work to abolish UCPD.
Throughout the 15-minute film, we follow Alicia Hurtado, a representative from Care Not Cops at U Chicago. Alicia organized protests, speeches and art builds throughout the entire month of May. We sit down with youth abolitionist expert Alycia Kamil, 20, who is from the South and West sides of Chicago. We document the power of youth activism and the fight for safety in Chicago.
